Hi there! I’m Juliane.
I’m a visual artist working across photography, film and design, with a strong focus on performing artists.
From 2008 to 2017, I worked at Tollwerk, a media design agency in Nuremberg/Germany, developing projects across digital and print media alongside photographic work. Since 2017, I have been working fully freelance, based between Norway, Germany and Switzerland.
As a musician myself, I understand performance from the inside — and translate it visually from the outside. I document artists both on and off stage; covering live concerts and studio recordings to behind-the-scenes moments. My photographic work has been published in national and international media including NRK, Adresseavisen, Dagsavisen, Klassekampen, Musikexpress and Rolling Stone Germany.
My video work includes collaborations with labels such as ECM Records, ACT Music, Edition Records and Sonic Transmissions Records.
Whether shooting live, filming in the studio or creating cover artworks, my work is guided by intuition, improvisation and a sensitivity to presence.
